What will be the Smartphone of 2012? II
April 9, 2012 (AAPLTrader)- Part two of a five part series.
Make sure you check out the article about the iPhone 5.
On March 18, 2012, Nokia Corp. (NASDAQ:NOK) and Microsoft Inc. (NASDAQ:MSFT) have teamed together with AT&T (NYSE:T) to officially announce the $99.00 per month Nokia Lumina 900 smartphone. Of course this deal is with a 2 year contract.
Do you think this is the smartphone that will push Nokia and Microsoft forward for 2012?
Nokia’s Lumina 900 features:
- 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED screen
- 16GB of onboard storage
- 1.4 GHZ Snapdragon processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 4G LTE connectivity
- 8 megapixel camera by Carl Zeiss
- Windows Phone 7.5
- 1840mh battery that has 300 hours standby
The download speed of this new smartphone is 50 Megabites per second, which is faster than most
household cable modems, and a whole lot faster than the projection of the iPhone 5 which is at 21 Mbps.
Rumor has it that Microsoft, Nokia and AT&T will be spending roughly $100 million marketing the Nokia Lumina 900 phone with commercials, in-store advertising, print & digital ads and more.
I believe that MSFT and NOK have to spend at least $100 million in marketing to compete with Google’s Android and Apple’s iPhone, which has already hit critical mass.
